TRUMP ANNOUNCES US MOVING EMBASSY TO JERUSALEM

Jerusalem recognized

‘Citing a 1995 law, the Jerusalem Embassy Act, compelling the president make the move absent national security risks, Trump said the time had come to recognize what everyone already knows to be true. "Jerusalem is the capital the Jewish people established in ancient times," he said. "Today Jerusalem is the seat of Israel's government."

This is nothing more or less than a recognition of the reality," he added.

He directed the State Department to begin preparing the move, which may take years as the government scopes out a location, hires architects and plans for what is sure to be a challenging security environment.’ Jerusalem Post Dec 8 17

Dismay and dire warnings heard around Arab world

Is this such a bad thing?

But is this such a bad thing? Many Bible believers are encouraged by this action of President Trump and consider that he is carrying out the declared purpose of God, who is in control of the destinies of the world, and whose purpose He makes clear in Numbers 14:21

But as truly as  I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

And who will guide the world to that end by manipulating its present rulers, for we read in Proverbs 21:1

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

God promised to bring the Jews back to the Land

Clearly from the Scriptures, the re-establishment of the Jews in the land, with Jerusalem as their Capital is part of that plan. Here are just three of the many prophecies that state that the Jews will return to repopulate Israel, before Christ returns to reign over them and the whole world, from Jerusalem.

Jeremiah 31:10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

Ezekiel 36:24  For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Amos 9:14  And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

These prophecies made around 1,500 years ago must have seemed like wishful thinking over the Centuries, but we have seen this happen in our time!

The Sate of Israel's bumpy start

In spite of a 'bumpy start', The State of Israel, now has a Jewish Parliament, a Jewish President, a Jewish army, navy and air force. It has  shekels as a currency and is made up of a population formed from immigrants from all over the world, who speak in Hebrew, the language of the Old Testament!

Is this the next step towards the Return of Christ?

Now, this action by President Trump, may be the next step along to that goal of the return of Christ to set up his Kingdom on earth.

When he was on earth, towards the end of his ministry, his disciples asked him for a sign Luke 21:7

And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

Jesus, warned them of the coming destruction of Jerusalem, which came about in AD 70 and then made this prophecy Luke 21:24

And they (the Jewish nation) shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

He then described the time of the end to be a world very similar to our own with ‘men’s hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth AND (Luke 21:27) ‘then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory’.

Even after the State of Israel was formed in 1948 and even when it declared Jerusalem as its capital in 1950 and the city was unified after the 6 Day War in 1967; even then, Jerusalem was still trodden down by the Gentiles as the Temple mount, site of Solomon’s Temple, was handed over to the Jordanians to control.

Perhaps, then the decision of President Trump will be a catalyst for developments which will make Jerusalem a completely unified city, no longer trodden down of the Gentiles, and if so, this might bring the wrath of the nations down upon Jerusalem and bring about the return of the Lord Jesus.

The Day of The LORD cometh

For we have this prophecy in Zechariah 14:1-4 concerning the fate of Jerusalem

Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Zech 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

May this totally unexpected declaration of President Trump, hasten the time when the Lord Jesus will return to set up his reign and bring about global worship of the One True God from that much afflicted city Jerusalem.

Isaiah 2:2-4

And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.  And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Even so come, Lord Jesus!

Women in Christ's Genealogy

Women in Christ's Genealogy   The women in Christ’s line… An extract from the Testimony Magazine, February 2016 There are four women mentioned in the genealogy of Christ as recorded by Matthew. It is suggested that they reflect the life in Christ of a baptised believer.  • Rahab, the harlot. Rahab lived in Jericho in a world so steeped in sin that it had to be totally destroyed. However, she heard of the might of the God of Israel and believed in the way that He had led His people Israel out of Egypt and thro...
